Stones are more prone to water or oil base stains, due to porosity on the surface stones tend to absorb liquid component as it dried the solid residue left in pores which are call stains. As stains are deeply penetrated it can’t be removed easily hence to protect stones we need to apply Stone Sealers.
A Stone Sealer is an impregnator sealer that is made up of a liquid based solvent (typically water based) and a solid resin. The solvent is the carrier that penetrates the pores in the
Stone surface and then evaporates leaving behind the solid resin that plugs the
Stone pores. Once the stone’s pores are clogged, the stone sealer effectively accomplishes its purpose of preventing stains by blocking foreign substances from penetrating the surface and thus preventing staining of the Stones.
Selection of best fit product is important for example we need a product for our interior application there are chances of both water or oil base stains can be from food items or cosmetic products hence we require water and oil repellent chemical only water repellent cannot work. If we go for exterior cladding stone, it requires only water repellent coating and not oil repellent.
Selection of Water base or solvent base product is always a big question. Let’s make it easy Dancer Stone material such as Marble, Granite, etc. has least porosity hence it require to be treated with solvent base product such as Water Repellent SSB19, Stone Sealer 15 & Stone Sealer 19. Light weight stone such as lime stone, mint stone, etc. they have huge porosity hence they can be treated with water base products such as Stone Sealer-(W) -15, Waterrepellent TR-WR-S500, & Waterrepellent TR-WR-813.
Stone Sealers apart from protection of stone’s can give color enhancing effect or gloss. As compared to epoxy or PU base product which completely change to color and texture of natural stone’s, Stone Sealer penetrate in surface and give color enhancing effects like color deepening, gloss, etc. Stone Sealer 11 is water and oil repellent which gives color darkening effect , Color Enhancer is water and oil repellent which gives Glossy effect to stones.
Stone care is regular maintenance process which has to be done every year to keep intact natural beauty of stones.
